Semrush’s drawers and the cheapest plan that opens each, billed monthly — read on semrush.com, 22 Sep 2026.

An SEO suite is a toolbox you rent by the drawer. Suitecheck prices Semrush, Ahrefs and their alternatives by what each plan actually unlocks — seats, tracked keywords, credits, trials — with every figure read on the vendor's own page and dated.

What each Semrush drawer costs to open

Semrush sells its suite as four self-serve plans, and the drawer you need decides which one you pay for. Site audits and 500 daily tracked keywords open at the SEO plan for $139 a month; AI prompt tracking needs Starter at $199; historical data and multi-location tracking need Pro+ at $299; share of voice and API data need Advanced at $549.

Every extra person costs from $45 a month on top. That is the pattern this site exists to show: the headline price is the smallest drawer, and the bill is set by the drawers you open. Ahrefs works the same way with different drawers, and so does every alternative on our Semrush alternatives comparison.

What Suitecheck compares, and what it doesn't

We compare what vendors publish: prices billed monthly and annually, seats, projects, tracked keywords and how often they update, credits, trials and refund terms. Each figure carries the date we read it.

We do not rank tools on data accuracy, database size or crawl speed. The suites disagree with each other on search volume and keyword difficulty, and we have no independent measurement to settle it, so a number from us would be a guess dressed as a finding. Where a vendor makes such a claim, we quote it as the vendor's claim.

Three ways in

Three questions bring people to a site like this one, and each has a page built for it:

Who pays for this site

Two vendors on these pages pay us when a reader subscribes through our link: SE Ranking and Mangools. Semrush has a partner programme we do not yet qualify for, so its link currently earns nothing. Ahrefs, Moz, SpyFu, Similarweb and Google Search Console pay us nothing, and we recommend them anyway where they fit. How we get paid lists every rule.

Drawer notes

All ten notes

Before you open a drawer

Why do SEO suites cost so much more than their headline price?

Because the headline price is one login and the smallest set of limits. Extra people, more tracked keywords, AI prompt tracking and reporting add-ons are sold on top, and those are usually what a working team needs.

Is it cheaper to buy one big suite or two small tools?

Often two small tools, if you use only two drawers. A rank tracker plus the free Google Search Console can cost less than a full suite; a team that uses keyword, backlink, audit and tracking tools every week usually does better with one suite.

Should I pay monthly or annually for an SEO tool?

Pay monthly until you are sure of the plan. Annual billing saves up to 17% on Semrush and 20% on SE Ranking, but Ahrefs and SE Ranking do not refund in general, so a wrong annual plan is an expensive mistake.

Which SEO suites offer a free trial?

As of 22 September 2026, Semrush offers seven days with a card check and SE Ranking fourteen days with no card. Ahrefs offers no trial but has a permanent free account for sites you verify.

Do the SEO suites agree on keyword volume?

No. Each builds its own estimates, so the same keyword can show different volumes and difficulty scores in each tool. Compare them on keywords whose real clicks you already know from Search Console.
