Semrush Pricing (2026): Four Plans, What Each Unlocks

Published Jul 9, 2026Prices re-read Sep 22, 2026

Semrush pricing in September 2026 starts at $139 a month for the SEO plan and rises through Starter ($199) and Pro+ ($299) to Advanced ($549), billed monthly. Paying annually lowers those to $117.33, $165.17, $248.17 and $455.67 a month, and every extra user starts at $45 a month.

Those are the figures on Semrush's pricing page, which is titled "SEO & AI Search Plans and Pricing", as we read it on 22 September 2026. The plan names are new enough that older articles still quote Pro, Guru and Business; those names no longer appear on the page beside a price.

The four plans at a glance

Semrush's self-serve ladder has four rungs, and the jump that matters most is from SEO to Starter, because that is where AI prompt tracking begins. Below them sits a free account, and above them sits Enterprise, which is priced by sales.

Starter$199$165.17550050
Pro+$299$248.17151,500100
Advanced$549$455.67405,000200

The SEO plan is aimed, in Semrush's words, at "freelancers and small businesses"; Starter at "small teams and agencies growing across organic search and AI"; Pro+ at growing teams working "across multiple markets, locations, or websites"; and Advanced at organisations that need "deeper insights, API access, and automation".

What each step up unlocks

Each plan adds a drawer rather than just bigger numbers, and the drawer is usually the reason to move. Here is what the pricing page lists as new at each step:

  • SEO ($139): keyword research and competitor analysis at a basic level, Position Tracking and Site Audit.
  • Starter ($199): the same 5 websites and 500 keywords, plus 50 AI prompts tracked daily, AI visibility reports and MCP access.
  • Pro+ ($299): 15 websites and 1,500 keywords, historical SEO data, content optimisation, keyword cannibalisation analysis and multi-location or multi-device tracking.
  • Advanced ($549): 40 websites and 5,000 keywords, share of voice and API data integration.

Notice what Starter does not change: it costs $60 a month more than the SEO plan and tracks exactly the same 500 keywords on the same 5 websites. You pay the difference for AI visibility, so if you don't need AI prompt tracking, the SEO plan is the better-value rung. What those AI features are is covered in Semrush One, explained.

Monthly or annual: what the toggle saves

Billed annually, Semrush saves $21.67 a month on the SEO plan, $33.83 on Starter, $50.83 on Pro+ and $93.33 on Advanced. Semrush advertises the annual toggle as "save up to 17%", and the arithmetic agrees: every plan except SEO comes to about 17%, and SEO to about 16%.

The toggle

Each plan billed monthly against billed annually, per month

Billed monthlyBilled annually, per month

  • SEOsaves $21.67 a month$139$117.33
  • Startersaves $33.83 a month$199$165.17
  • Pro+saves $50.83 a month$299$248.17
  • Advancedsaves $93.33 a month$549$455.67
Drawn from the plan table above. The saving under each plan name is the monthly price minus the annual per-month price, as written in this section.

Over a year, that means paying $1,407.96 instead of $1,668 for the SEO plan — a saving of $260.04 — or $5,468.04 instead of $6,588 for Advanced. The per-month annual price is what Semrush prints; the yearly totals are that price multiplied by twelve, and your invoice may differ by cents after rounding. Annual billing is only a saving if you would have kept the plan for twelve months anyway.

Extra users: the cost that grows fastest

Every Semrush plan's price covers one login, and each additional user starts at $45 a month. The pricing page says the price per user is "determined by your SEO tools plan level", so $45 is a floor, not a flat rate.

A three-person team on the SEO plan therefore pays at least $139 + 2 × $45 = $229 a month, billed monthly. That is where alternatives with cheaper seats start to matter: SE Ranking's extra manager seats start at $16, while Ahrefs charges $40 to $80 per extra user depending on the tier. The whole field is priced in our Semrush alternatives comparison.

Add-ons on the pricing page

Semrush lists four add-ons on its pricing page, and two of them are reporting. Base Report costs $10 a month and Pro Report $20 a month; Pro Report adds external integrations and "branding and white-labeling". Lead Generation costs $90 a month, and Additional Users start at $45 a month.

None of the four is needed for everyday keyword research or rank tracking. If a quote from Semrush is higher than the plan price you chose, extra users and these add-ons are the first places to look.

The free account and the trial

You can use Semrush without paying, within tight limits. According to the answer on its pricing page, a free account gets 10 requests a day to the Analytics reports, one project and 10 tracked keywords in Position Tracking.

The paid trial runs seven days on the SEO, Starter and Pro+ plans; the Advanced card offers "Subscribe or try custom plan" instead. Semrush takes a small charge to check your card, refunds it immediately, and bills nothing until the trial ends. How to use those seven days well is in the Semrush free trial guide.

Cancelling, downgrading and refunds

You can cancel, downgrade or upgrade a Semrush plan at any time, according to the pricing page's FAQ, unless you signed custom terms with Semrush. That flexibility is the main argument for paying monthly while you work out which plan you need.

Refunds are handled "according to our official refund policy", which the pricing page links to but does not summarise, so we do not quote a refund window here. Read that policy before choosing annual billing, because the annual saving is only worth having if you are sure of the plan.

Is there a Semrush discount?

The only saving Semrush publishes is annual billing, at up to 17%. We have no coupon or partner discount to offer, and we would treat a code promising more with suspicion.

Semrush's affiliate programme itself prohibits partners from advertising "fake discounts", which is one reason genuine codes are rare. If you want to spend less, the honest levers are the ones above: annual billing, the SEO plan instead of Starter if you don't need AI tracking, and fewer seats.

Who should pay which plan

Pick the lowest plan whose drawers you will open every week. For a single site owner or freelancer who tracks rankings and runs audits, that is the SEO plan; for an agency reporting AI visibility to clients, it is Starter; for a team across several markets, Pro+.

Advanced makes sense when you need the API or share of voice, and at that point you are paying $549 a month for one login. If the plan you need feels expensive for what you use, compare it with the Semrush alternatives, priced side by side before renewing. If Ahrefs is the other name on your shortlist, Ahrefs vs Semrush sets the two side by side.
