Semrush One, Explained: What the AI Search Tiers Add

Published Jul 19, 2026Prices re-read Sep 22, 2026

Semrush One is Semrush's name for a single plan that combines its SEO tools with tracking of how your brand appears in AI answers. On the pricing page, that combination is sold as three plans labelled "SEO + AI Search" — Starter at $199, Pro+ at $299 and Advanced at $549 a month — above a plain SEO plan at $139 that has no AI prompt tracking.

Semrush's own Semrush One page describes it as "one connected solution for Google, AI search + GEO. One plan." It prints no prices, so the link between the name and the three plans is our reading of the two pages together, checked on 22 September 2026.

What Semrush says Semrush One is

In Semrush's words, Semrush One "merges keyword-based SEO metrics with prompt-level AI search insights". The practical meaning is that one login tracks both where you rank in Google and whether AI assistants mention you when people ask them questions.

The page groups the product into four jobs: visibility tracking (keyword rankings and AI mentions over time), prompt monitoring, competitive research and website optimisation for "traditional search and AI". It also offers a seven-day free trial, marked "Offer available to new users only".

Which plans are the AI tiers

Three of Semrush's four self-serve plans add AI tracking, and they differ mainly in how many prompts they watch. Starter tracks 50 prompts a day, Pro+ 100 and Advanced 200; the SEO plan tracks none.

Starter's card lists the AI extras in full: 50 prompts tracked daily, one domain for "AI brand performance" and 300 AI visibility reports a day, plus MCP access and an "AI-ready" site audit. Pro+ and Advanced raise the prompt count and add the SEO features of their tier.

What a tracked prompt is

A tracked prompt is a question you expect people to ask an AI assistant — say, "which project management tool suits a small agency?" — that the tool asks on your behalf each day and records whether, and how, your brand appears in the answer. It is the AI-search counterpart of a tracked keyword.

Two cautions apply to every vendor selling this, not only Semrush. AI answers vary from one asking to the next, so a single day's result is a sample, not a position. And no vendor we checked publishes an accuracy figure for its prompt tracking, so we make no claim that one tool's AI visibility score is more reliable than another's.

What the AI drawer costs

The cleanest way to price Semrush's AI tracking is the step from SEO to Starter, because it changes nothing else. Starter costs $60 a month more than the SEO plan, billed monthly, and the only additions are the AI features; that is $1.20 a month for each of the 50 daily prompts.

Billed annually the step is $165.17 − $117.33 = $47.84 a month. Above Starter, the prompt count rises with the SEO limits, so the extra cost of Pro+ and Advanced buys more websites and keywords as well as more prompts and cannot be priced as AI alone.

How rivals price the same drawer

Several suites now bundle AI prompt tracking into their standard plans, and the allowances vary widely. At their published entry plans, read on 22 September 2026:

  • SE Ranking Core ($129 a month): 100 prompts tracked daily, alongside 2,000 daily keywords.
  • Ahrefs Lite ($129 a month): 5 tracked AI prompts; Standard 10, Advanced 20, with separate prompt packages from $50 a month.
  • Moz Pro Standard ($99 a month): 50 tracked prompts, with weekly prompt tracking.
  • Similarweb Competitive Intel & SEO & AEO ($399 a month): 150 tracked prompts.

On allowance alone, SE Ranking's Core plan tracks twice as many prompts daily as Semrush's Starter for $70 a month less. Allowance is not the whole story — the AI assistants covered and how results are reported differ, and we have not compared the outputs — but it is the number to put against the price. The full field is on our Semrush alternatives comparison.

What the SEO plan still covers

Choosing the plain SEO plan does not mean giving up on AI search entirely; it means not paying Semrush to track it. The SEO plan's card still lists keyword research, competitor analysis, Position Tracking and Site Audit for 5 websites and 500 daily keywords.

If you want some AI visibility tracking without the $60 step, the rivals above include prompts in their base plans, and a free check by hand — asking an assistant your buyers' questions once a month and noting whether you appear — costs nothing but time.

Do you need the AI tiers?

You need an AI tier if someone will act on the AI visibility numbers: an agency reporting to clients, or a brand whose buyers ask assistants for recommendations. If nobody will read those reports, the SEO plan at $139 does the same keyword and audit work for $60 a month less.

Try it before deciding. The seven-day trial covers Starter and Pro+, so you can watch the 50 prompts for a week and judge whether the output changes anything you do. Our Semrush free trial guide sets out a seven-day plan, and the next question many people have — whether Ahrefs' cheapest plan covers enough — is answered in the Ahrefs Starter plan guide.

Semrush One and the Adobe deal

Semrush is now owned by Adobe: Adobe announced it had completed the acquisition on 28 April 2026 and placed Semrush in its Customer Experience Orchestration business. The prices on this page were read on 22 September 2026, almost five months later.

What the ownership means for future pricing, plan names or the AI features is not something either company has published, so we don't speculate. We will re-read the pricing page and update the date on this article when it changes.

Three questions to answer during a trial

A week of AI prompt tracking is enough to test whether the drawer earns its $60 a month, if you go in with questions rather than a general look around. These three do most of the work:

  1. Do the prompts match what your buyers ask? Write the 50 prompts from real sales calls or support tickets, not from your keyword list; a prompt nobody asks tells you nothing.
  2. Does the result move when you do something? Publish or update one page aimed at a tracked prompt early in the week and see whether anything changes by day seven. If nothing you do can move the number, it is a report, not a tool.
  3. Who will read it? Name the person who will look at the AI visibility report every week. If you cannot, the SEO plan is the better buy.

None of these needs special skill, and the answers are yours rather than the vendor's — which is the point of trialling before paying.
