How we get paid — and who pays us nothing

Two vendors on Suitecheck pay us a commission when a reader subscribes through our link. Everyone else — including Ahrefs, the tool we write about most after Semrush — pays us nothing. Here are the exact rules.

Who pays us

SE Ranking and Mangools run partner programmes that pay us a share of what a reader pays them after arriving through our link. Semrush runs a programme too, but it requires 1,000 monthly unique visitors (or 1,000 followers) before it accepts a site, so our Semrush link currently earns nothing.

Nobody pays us for a placement, a ranking or a review, and no vendor sees a page before it is published.

Who pays us nothing

Ahrefs runs no affiliate programme, so every Ahrefs link on Suitecheck is a plain link that earns nothing. Google Search Console is free and pays nothing. Moz, SpyFu and Similarweb may run programmes, but we have not verified their terms, so we name them without linking them at all.

We recommend all of these where they fit the reader's job. Ahrefs sits second on our Semrush alternatives list, and Search Console is on it, although neither earns us a cent.

A partner link on Suitecheck always starts with /go/ followed by the vendor's name, is marked sponsored and nofollow, and carries a short note beside it saying it may pay us. For now, each one forwards to the vendor's homepage; when a programme issues our own tracking link, only the destination changes.

Rules a payout never breaks

These apply on every page, whatever a programme would allow:

  • No coupons. We publish no coupon, promo code or "exclusive discount". Where a vendor's own page shows an annual saving, we quote it with its date.
  • No paid search on vendor names. We don't buy ads on Semrush, Ahrefs or any other vendor's brand.
  • No trademark in our name. Suitecheck's name and domain contain no vendor's brand.
  • The order is ours. A higher payout never moves a tool up a list, and a free tool is recommended whenever it is the honest answer.
